When I finally get sick of Corporate America, the first thing I am going to do is see if I can open a Beggars franchise in Indianapolis. Husband and I dream about the deep dish pizza when we are at home. So unbelievably good. I'm relatively certain the only reason Husband agrees to visit my parents is because he knows that he will get a deep dish from Beggars out of it.

Pizza was GREAT! ...Always a very long wait I always wait an hour to go pick up pizza even though they tell me 45minutes but I still end up waiting another 10 min + usually

Not sure why the reviews are what they are. The host was less than warm...no smile, not even hello. Just, how many and booth or table. Our server was sweet, making up for the hostest. Food...portions were decent. the salad was large and basic. Spinach artichoke dip lacked flavor the garlic bread was better alone. As for the pizza, we ordered a large 1/2 taco 1/2 Hawaiian. I was more than disappointed, we were hoping g to finally a new pizza joint, and unfortunately I won't be back. The taco pizza didn't really have any flavor what so ever, not even the sour cream. Not sure what happened, but whatever it was...I don't want to try again later. The Hawaiian lacked flavor as well. There was too much sauce and not enough ham. If looking for video games and premade garlic bread, score! Not a bad establishment, just lacks flavor.

All the food is good here. Which is fortunate for this place. Because you're not going to get what you ordered. Because seriously, the staff is intensely bad. Seriously awful. Rude, neglectful, hormonal, awkward. So bad you think there must (MUST!) be cameras from Punk'd all over the place. The food (what they choose to bestow us with) keeps us trying again and again; but it's really starting to get old that they can't EVER get any part of an order right. This place has been open long enough that I find it really hard to believe that they can't find decent help. And management is no better, all you get is blank stares and shrugged shoulders. FWIW every other location is soooo much better; it might be worth the drive.

We just went here and were told it would be 45 mins and then she said no over an hour. Why don't you do carry out? Extremely rude hostess. Sorry you have to work on Friday night but we all work too. Never will go here again. Walked over to Buffalo Wild Wings in the same parking lot to eat.

Pizza is mediocre. Atmosphere is just OK, nothing special. The food is just your average Americanized Italian food. Good for parties though.

Very good pizza. Super loaded with cheese and toppings. I have only tried the thin crust but they offer deep and stuffed. Stock up on coupons when you see them because this pizza is pricey. A large 2 topping pizza will run you a little over 25 bucks. We love their pizza but for that reason it is not our go to pizza place.

I like Beggers...but calm down a little on the meat. The deep dish is good and I think the franchises do a good job in keeping with the Blue Island Beggers where I first had a slice 35 years ago.

Mediocre pizza that certainly isn't cheap. It can be quite loud inside and the service can be really inconsistent (lots of young and inattentive waitresses). Our undercooked (rubbery and nearly raw) chicken wings were inexcusable. Not a place I'd frequent.

The pizza is quite good, but the service the two times I've been there was horribly slow. Waited almost an hour for regular ( not deep dish ) pizza. If you have time to kill, this is the place to go.

It's hard to find really good pizza around the Northwest of Indiana. When I heard their slogan "We Lay It On Thick", I had to try their pizza and mmm they were right. I'm picky about how pizza sauce taste, it has to be just right and I'm a fan of their Pizza by the Slice on lunch time...

This is our favorite place to order pizza from. It's always delicious. Nice and hot when delivered. YUM!

"WE LAY IT ON THICK" is Beggar's slogan. They are known for being VERY generous with toppings and cheese...Beggar's is a local franchise with 13 locations in Indiana and Illinois. The first time I tried Beggar's, I wasn't impressed. It seemed too salty and greasy for me. A few weeks ago, I had it again (not knowing it was Beggar's at first) and was like, "This pizza is great, where is it from?" I really liked the sauce and crust. Try it out and let me know what you think:)

Insanely GREAT pizza! Pricing is a little high, but I'll gladly pay for the only place in NW INDIANA that makes a great pizza. I used to be true and loyal to Auerillo's but sorry, Beggar's is THE PLACE FOR PIZZA!!!

Beggar's is my favorite pizza. They use a generous amount of tomato sauce. It is not too salty. It tastes just right. Everyone at work seemed to love it.

Great pizza. I've only had delivery so far but this is where I order from now. Try it!

The service was decent. Not overly friendly, but the drinks stayed topped off. But like another reviewer I did not receive the right order. Fortunately my side of the pizza was messed up and not my daughters. After waiting for the deep dish, I didn't have time to wait for it to be corrected. It was still good, just really wish wait staff would write things down.

Went last night. First we ordered the JUMBO Chicken Wings - that were definitely JUMBO! They came out crispy with lots of sauce on the side. Then we had the Spaghetti & Meatball dinner that came with soup or salad. Salad was fresh and large for a side salad. The Spaghetti & Meatballs were covered in melted cheese. Meatballs had great flavor, and was so filling I took most of it home. Waitress was very pleasant and informative about the weekly specials. We had a great food and we will be back. Going to try the Deep Dish Pizza next!

Picked up carryout late on Thursday night - my 4 stars are simply because I have to check my order before I leave every time since every other time they miss the salad dressing. We always get the same thing - a small deep dish and two dinner salads with extra dressing on the side that I request with my order and am charged for. The pizza is fresh, the salads cold and the service is what you expect from the carryout counter. If something isn't right - I prefer it be that something is missing that can be easily corrected rather than the food being bad.

I went here on 9-2-2014...I was with 2 others and they had the 2 for 1 lasagna and I ordered a med cheese /sausage pizza. they also helped me with the pizza. I can say that this pizza was the best I ever had in my life. Everything about it was perfect from the baking to ingrediant taste to thee amount of ingrediants used. I will.really regret when I go back home and wont have a Beggars around to visit.

Apparently, knocking Beggar's pizza is tantamount to treason. The fact is, though, this is not particularly good pizza. I ordered mushroom and green pepper. The result was one of the most tasteless pizza I've ever had. The sauce was just about as bland as tomato paste, with no signs of any seasoning with oregano or garlic. The cheese was thick, all right, to the point of rubbery. The crust was dry and without flavor. I have not tried any of the other offerings. The service was good.

Great for lunch , only place I know of that offers slices of deep dish to the lunch crowd.

Great meal, husband had Ravioli and I had spaghetti . The only problem in it is extremely noisy!! Arcade in the back was full of yelling children, made it hard for us to talk and really enjoy our meal. Maybe the management should consider putting doors up in the arcade area.
